Completing the SSF Session
- Solid Start Counseling takes a minimum of two hours to complete, whether it is completed online or over the phone.
- It is a requirement of the EOUST that all debtor education courses, not just SSF, are a minimum of two hours long.
- Online clients must:
- Read through all 14 modules.
- Meet the posted time requirement for each module.
- Each module has a different time requirement.
- The time required for all 14 modules adds up to two hours.
- Receive a score of 80% or higher on assessment questions in order to move forward in the course.
- There is no score requirement on the first and the last quizzes.
Generating the Web Counseling Certificate
- When a client has finished the course, they are directed to complete an optional survey. They may skip the survey by clicking on the “skip survey” link.
- The client must then “sign” the affidavit.
- The certificate is queued after the affidavit is completed.
- The client will verify their bankruptcy case number, judicial district, and division.
- The district is automatically populated based on the zip code on the client’s account.
- Clients may then add any e-mail addresses and/or a fax number for the delivery of their certificate.
- The final step is when the client clicks on the “Issue My Certificate” button.
Generating the On-Demand Certificate
- After the final chapter is completed on the phone, the client will be prompted to press the “1” key on their phone.
- The client will then hear “good job, you’re done.”
- If they hang up at any point after they press the final “1” they are considered finished.
- Their certificate will be generated within an hour during business hours (6am-6pm PT)
- If no email and/or fax number has been included on the client’s account, by default the certificate will be delivered by USPS to the address on the account.
- The client may call back after completing the course to request additional delivery options for the certificate.
