Releasing Information To A Third Party

Releasing Client/Employee Information

We sometimes get calls from different branches of the government (i.e. FBI, Trustee’s Office,  etc.) or employment offices asking for information about an account, client, or employee.

  • Do not provide any information about a client’s account or an employee/ex-employee.
  • Let the caller know that you will need to escalate their request and you’ll have someone call them back.
  • These calls aren’t typically urgent so there is no need to ping a TL.

Send an action with the following:

  • Person’s Name
  • Organization (if applicable)
  • A telephone number where they can be reached
  • Information that they need (what’s the call about?)
  • Additional Relevant information

Remember as part of our disclosure statement:  No information will ever be conveyed or disclosed to any third party without the client’s consent, except as may be required by law.
