Five Digit Code  

Each counseling agency has its own unique code.  The first five digits indicate the agency. 

For Example – 00134-LAW-CC-028413550

    • 00134 is Cricket Debt.
    • 12433 is Solid Start Financial.
    • 15557 is Urgent Counseling.

Filing District

For Example – 00134-LAW-CC-028413550

    • The first 2 letters represent the state the client is filing. 
    • For those states that have more than one district, the state abbreviation will be followed by either N(orth), S(outh), E(ast), W(est), or C(entral).
    • Some states, such as OR, have only one district so the cert will only have the 2 letter state abbreviation. 

 Type of Certificate

For Example – 00134-LAW-CC–028413550

    • Certificates with CC indicate credit counseling.
    • Certificates with DE indicate debtor education.

Nine Digit Number

For Example – 00134-LAW-CC–028413550 

    • Every certificate is given a unique 9 digit number.
    • Counselors are able to search for a client by this number (See Search Functions).
